Paperback small thick octavo, very good condition, pages&inside covers lightly toned, light foxing top edge, some edgewear (including corner tips). 477 pp. This is the only selection to draw on the whole range of Christopher Brennan's work: his poetry, literary criticism and theory, autobiographical writings, and letters. In addition to"Poems"(1913), there is a selection from"The Burden of Tyre"and his lighter satiric verse, also a number of recently discovered earlier poems. He was born of Irish immigrant parents. The editor has written a scholarly introduction assessing Brennan in the light of the very rich variety of prose contexts in which his poetry is presented. He also provides full explanatory notes for all the new material appearing in the volume.
